I made a rare trip east this morning to try to catch up with a Yellow throated Warbler that has been coming to a feeder at a private residence in Lancaster in Worcester County.  This species is quite rare away from the coast and is one I had not yet caught up with in the state so I decided to try for it and I'm happy to report I eventually had success after about an hour wait...a very cool warbler to have around here in December and my 36th warbler species for the state.  A much more detailed on the trip can be found at the following link:  Yellow throated Warbler in Worcester County

The forecast for the remainder of the day looks to feature ever increasing south winds and heavy rain by overnight into Christmas which could result in flooding and perhaps power outages followed by another big cool down (compared to highs today in the mid to upper 50's).  The warm weather and rain should put a big dent into the snow pack (hopefully).
