The calm waters of Quabbin, May 2, 2012 |
I stopped by Winsor Dam on my way home from work and was rewarded with several good birds out on the water. There was a pair of Red-breasted Mergansers, five White-winged Scoter as well as seven Common Loons with six close together in one group. In addition some 90+ swallows (mainly Tree Swallows) were feeding over the near glass like waters of Quabbin.
This morning I had six species of warbler at the house including my first Ovenbirds of the year.
