Just back from a good trip out to Arizona. Although it was not a strictly birding trip I had some very good luck nonetheless. Hit areas around Tucson, Mount Lemmon and Madera Canyon over the course of a week. I managed a total of 136 species with 20 of those life birds for me. The big highlights included Rufous-capped Warbler and Flame Colored Tanager. I will be posting some of my photos over the next few weeks.
My observations and sightings in nature from both my local area and much further afield. Focus is always on birds but other parts of nature make it on here too.

Finger Lakes-New York
Just returned from a trip out to the Finger Lakes region of New York. It was not a birding trip but instead a get away for our anniversary. However I did manage a little birding at a variety of spots including Montazuma NWR, Tauhannock Falls State Park (where the photo was taken) and the fields and trails around our B&B. Nothing too unusual but it was nice to be out in a new area and have the weather sunny and warm. Now back to the rain at home!
