After a rainy day yesterday that produced some more unusual shorebirds, today was a mix of clouds and sun and progressively windier as the day wore on.  I was out early before the winds kicked up too badly and had a some stuff at my first couple stops with a highlight being a close view of a Pileated Woodpecker as it fed on berries.  My last stop of the morning was the most productive when I ran across a large mixed flock that contained 14 species of warblers (including several Cape May Warblers and Tennessee Warblers) as well as other migrants including my first Ruby crowned Kinglet of the fall.  More on warblers the last few days at the following link.

The next few nights hold a lot of potential to bring lots of migrants into the area from points to the north.  If you are able to get out (even for a little bit) it will almost certainly be worth it the next few mornings.
