Northampton CBC

I got up before dawn to spend the morning taking part in the Northampton CBC. My area of coverage centered around Hampshire College. I managed one owl, a calling Great Horned Owl. I ran across a group of roosting Mourning Doves in a field before dawn that took off into the dark with much noise and fanfare when I was almost on top of them. I later watched a Cooper's Hawk try its luck at catching a dove and managed to hit one in midair and create a cloud of feathers but the dove got away. No earth scattering birds today but nice numbers of Cedar Waxwings (155+) and the other usual suspects.
